Osteofibrous dysplasia is a rare, benign non-neoplastic condition with no known cause. It is considered a fibrovascular defect. Campanacci described this condition in two leg bones, the tibia and fibula, and coined the term. In 1942, however, Jaffe and Lichtenstein described the same condition under the name "nonosteogenic fibroma", so the condition is often known as Jaffe-Campanacci Syndrome. The syndrome's exact nature is under debate, with some authors suggesting that it may be a manifestation of neurofibromatosis.The tibia is the most commonly involved bone, accounting for 85% of cases.

There are no guidelines as to the safe limit of the perforator flap. We make an attempt to define the safe limit of local perforator flap for lower limb reconstruction by comparing it with the limb length of the patient, which is a constant variable for a particular patient.35 below knee perforator flaps were included in the study and were based on a single islanded perforator. The maximum flap length from the perforator was compared to the limb length (from lateral malleolus to head of fibula). Using EPI info 6.04 D software, analysis of the data was done. Perforator propeller flaps with maximum flap length from the perforator equal to or less than one third of the limb length, are safe flaps. Whenever the expected maximum flap length: limb length ratio exceeds more than one third, it is better to look for other reconstructive options. This flap is a simple, safe and versatile procedure to cover moderate sized traumatic lower extremity wounds.

The Bosworth fracture is a rare fracture of the distal fibula with an associated fixed posterior dislocation of the proximal fibular fragment which becomes trapped behind the posterior tibial tubercle. The injury is caused by severe external rotation of the ankle. The ankle remains externally rotated after the injury, making interpretation of X-rays difficult which can lead to misdiagnosis and incorrect treatment. The injury is most commonly treated by open reduction internal fixation as closed reduction is made difficult by the entrapment of the fibula behind the tibia.The entrapment of an intact fibula behind the tibia was described by Ashhurst and Bromer in 1922, who attributed the description of the mechanism of injury to Huguier's 1848 publication. The injury involving fibular fracture with posterior dislocation was described by David M. Bosworth in 1947.

The study describes the physiological responses of clams burrowing activity during long term exposure to Wsf enriched sediment and changing profile of biochemical parameters. Forensic anthropology, as a sub-discipline of applied physical anthropology, since its inception has contributed immensely in crime scene investigations especially in identification of unknown skeletal material. It is established through numerous studies that long limbs bones have a definite relationship with stature of an individual and thus the length of a long bone could be used to predict the stature. Keeping this in view it is hypothesized that the linear, transverse, sagittal and circumferential dimensions of a long bone should also have a positive relationship with bone length almost in the same manner as a long bone length has it with stature. The present study, conducted on dry and fully ossified long bones, namely humerus, radius, ulna, femur, tibia and fibula aims at assessing the bilateral variations if any in the fragmentary measures of different long bones, correlation pattern between different fragmentary measurements and bone length, to formulate linear regression equations for estimation of bone length from fragmentary measurements and to identify certain new measurements for estimation of bone length, which have not been used by other researchers.
